StructuredWordInquiry.com was founded by wife and husband team Shawna Pope-Jefferson, MS/CCC/SLP, and Ethen Jefferson with the goal of preserving the legacy of Structured Word Inquiry (SWI) while creating a central hub where practitioners, educators, parents, and all scholars could go to find all things SWI.

StructuredWordInquiry.com aims to provide learning opportunities through live and recorded web based classes that are taught by dedicated SWI practitioners, specialists, and licensed clinicians from the fields of education, linguistics, Speech Pathology, and more.

StructuredWordInquiry.com seeks to give teachers, practitioners, and parents access to resources and materials that are critical to the successful implementation of SWI.

Shawna Pope-Jefferson is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist of over 25 years who has successfully used SWI for nearly a decade to help a variety of learners. She is also one of the site’s top contributors.

Media engagement and business operations are run by Ethen Jefferson. He also heads up our content production unit.

This site also relies on the participation of content contributors whose articles, blogs, and videos enrich the learning and understanding of the greater SWI community worldwide.

Special thanks to Dr. Peter Bowers who coined the term Structured Work Inquiry, and whose work is the foundation on which this endeavor exists.
